Each of our nine manufacturing facilities undergoes rigorous regular checks to ensure the safety of the products we produce: both safety for birds, and safety for our customers. We are certified compliant with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

The majority of our bird food facilities complete annual audits with the British Retail Consortium (BRC), an affiliate of the American Institute of Baking (AIB). Since 2011, our facilities have earned a consistent average A grade from the BRC. See individual facility pages for specific earned certificates. At Global Harvest Foods, we take safety seriously.

An undisputed leader in food safety

Food safety doesn't stop with certificates, either. We apply an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) to all grains prior to bagging. In addition, we add Diatomaceous Earth to storage bins as needed. DE is an organic mineral that is safe for human and bird consumption. The mineral kills insects so that your store stays free of pests, and your customers keep coming back for more.

Safety Certifications 

Need an extra level of protection? We offer bags specially constructed to maximize product safety. Laminated Barrier Bag technology ensures that if an insect does happen to hatch inside a bag of seed, it can't eat its way out of the bag - thereby drastically reducing infestation issues at the store level. This is especially crucial in grocery or mass merchandise stores where additional retail categories can potentially be impacted by the spread of an uninvited pest.
